Work

"One should guard against preaching to young people success in the customary form as the main aim in life. The most important motive for work in school and in life is pleasure in work, pleasure in its result, and the knowledge of the value of the result to the community."

-- Albert Einstein"

I'm an electronics engineer (MSc), and graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg in 1990. There is a résumé available if you want to hire me, or something like that...

From April '96 I worked at Frontec in Göteborg, as a programmer on a case management system for local social authorities, called Sofia 96. Thus I have strayed away a bit from the field of electronic design into administrative programming. I never wanted to become too narrow, and it's interesting to see other aspects of society than the space industry... (It also pays better. :-)

In November '96 a new company was formed out of some departments of Frontec, and I now work at Adapt Information Systems, owned by Bure and Frontec.

Since my wife got a research position in Umeå, 1000 kilometers from Göteborg, I left my position at Adapt in April 1997. For the rest of 1997 I continued to work for Adapt on a freelance basis.

I now run my own company Thinkware AB. So far it only has a web page in Swedish I'm afraid, but it's a consultancy company focused on software development. Focus points are relational databases, Python, Linux and internet technology, but I do other stuff as well if it's interesting. Get in touch if you have a project which might fit me.

Before I came to Frontec, I was employed at Saab Ericsson Space, Göteborg. Initially I worked as a test engineer, but after a year, I began my studies at Chalmers. After graduation I was employed as a Hardware Design engineer, but various coincidences and my own interests caused me to spend almost half of my working time there involved in software - one way or another. I've programmed C, Pascal and Unix scripts etc. I also got into database systems and SQL, managing the home built material handling system, and supervising the development of a new, integrated purchase application etc.

In the field of hardware design I mainly worked with development of digital electronics for an experiment called VEGETATION in the SPOT4 observation satellite, and with the reconfiguraton system for the new line of Satellite Data Handling Systems from Saab Ericsson Space. I did some reliability analysis on the Ariane 5 launcher On Board Computer, but that nasty crash in June was not my fault. ;-)
