Art

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."

-- Albert Einstein"

Art means a lot to me. Art raises emotions, gives us impulses and makes us see and think in new ways. That is important, both for our dreams and reality.

I'm interested in photography, and I was a member of Mölndals Fotoklubb before I moved north. Lately I haven't really photographed as much as I used too. I do take a lot of pictures when I am travelling, which I like to do on my vacations. I also like taking portraits.

Music is another of lifes many sources of enjoyment. I listen to a lot of English music, often from the 70's, such as Pink Floyd and old Genesis, when Peter Gabriel was still in the band. I also like some later things like Marillion and the Cure etc. There are also some women singers I really like, like Kate Bush and Sweden's perhaps best rock artist - Eva Dahlgren. I also like music which is inspired by Scandinavian folk music, like Groupa, Hedningarna, Den Fule and Norrlåtar.

Classical music is also great, and Scandinavia has been blessed with some really great composers. Grieg and Sibelius are probably the greatest, but the Swedish Lars-Eric Larsson has made some really good music too. There are many of course... We have a really good concert hall in Göteborg, with splendid aucustics, and a good orchestra. I go there all too seldom though -- it's mainly due to my girl friend that it happens at all...

I don't like country music, not a bit, but I like Cowboy Junkies a lot, even though they have a slightly countryish sound. ;-) Lately I've been exposed to quite a bit of it though. (Yuk!) One of my friends at work often had a country CD in his computer, and the worst thing is, that after a while I begin to hum those tunes... :-(
