The art of murdering movies!
An example from the wonderful world of television...

Check out the different versions of the very same scene!
As you can see, there are no smaller adjustments beeing made when pressing a widescreen movie down into television format... Itīs a bloody cinematic massacre!!!
Actors disappear and the set looks completely different! It all becomes another and not quite as good a picture!

In some cases there is an autorized pan&scan TV-version made by the producer. They decide what is to be amputaded. This is of course bad, but still better than when a single technician on the TV-station or a videocompany do the panning and scanning. Obviously enough half of the movie canīt just be cut out without a decrease in artistic and visual quality even if its made by a genious.
By demanding good TV-screenings, widescreen videos and laservideos, the commercial potential will grow for beeing careful with how a movie is treated outside the cinemas.

There are thousands of titles available for home use on the market today - there are hundreds of screenings every day on TV, satellite and cable in every single country, with that in common that they are all shown in the wrong format

Isn't it time to react? Why pay full for half the movie? Why pay at all for movies with commercial breaks? Talk with your suppliers today!

Itīs better this way - donīt you agree?

Oh - there was... Sorry!

Oops... Itīs a grand assult!!!

Was Leia with them? I didnīt see that at first!

Aha - there were more troopers around!
